Pregnant Teenager Fatally Shot in San Diego

A tragic incident occurred in San Diego when an eight-month-pregnant teenager was fatally shot while visiting the city. The shooting took place early Saturday morning in the 4900 block of Gardena Avenue. Responding officers found the 17-year-old victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.

Life-saving measures were immediately initiated for both the mother and her unborn child. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where an emergency cesarean section was performed. While the newborn survived and is in critical condition, the mother was pronounced dead at the hospital despite all efforts.

Authorities have taken Trevon Williams, a 21-year-old from Arizona, into custody in connection with the shooting. He was apprehended near the scene shortly after the incident. Williams is facing charges that include murder and attempted murder. He had reportedly met the victim outside their short-term rental when the shooting occurred.
