A jawan serving in the Military Intelligence Unit, identified as Vivek Kumar Singh, has died after being assaulted in a road rage incident in Prayagraj. The 28-year-old jawan had come to the city to attend a wedding ceremony. The fatal altercation reportedly stemmed from an argument over overtaking while Singh and his friends were traveling by car.
Singh was critically injured during the assault and was rushed to a hospital in the state capital, Lucknow. Despite medical efforts, he passed away late Sunday night. The incident has led to a swift police response, with an FIR filed against five named suspects under section 103 (2) of the BNS.
The arrested individuals include a sub-inspector from Mirzapur district police, a lawyer, and three other residents of Naini. Authorities have confirmed the arrests and are continuing their investigation into the matter.
