A seven-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped by unknown individuals in a van on Saturday afternoon outside his residence in Saraykala village, Manda police station limits, Prayagraj. The child was reportedly dropped off by his school van in front of his house, where his grandfather was waiting.
Miscreants in a van reportedly approached the grandfather, inquiring about an address, and then forcibly took the child before speeding away. More than 24 hours later, police have formed at least eight teams but are still without a clear lead on the boy's location. The family has not received any ransom demand, and the motive for the abduction remains a mystery. The economic condition of the victim's family is reportedly not strong.
Senior police officers are overseeing the investigation, with CCTV footage proving instrumental in tracking the kidnappers' escape route. An FIR has been registered, and police are actively working on several clues. The child's father resides and works in Mumbai. The family has not expressed suspicion towards the school van driver, nor do they have known enmities within the village.
