Afsar Ahmed, who was carrying a Rs 50,000 reward, is accused of providing his identification to shooters. These individuals allegedly used Ahmed's ID to meet Khalid Azim, the brother of slain gangster Atiq Ahmed, multiple times at Bareilly jail.
The meetings are reported to have taken place prior to the Umesh Pal shootout, suggesting a connection to the broader conspiracy. Police further stated that Ahmed and his accomplices were actively involved in intimidating eyewitnesses, particularly those testifying against criminal elements.
