11 Dec, 2025
Summary
- Woman found screaming under a bridge with a severely swollen kneecap.
- She claims another homeless person threw her off a cliff.
- Paramedics offered help, but she ultimately declined assistance.
A distressing incident unfolded in Portland where a homeless woman, identified as Jennifer, was discovered screaming and unable to move beneath a bridge. She reported being thrown from a cliff by another homeless person, resulting in a severely injured and swollen kneecap.
Citizen journalist Kevin Dahlgren found Jennifer and alerted emergency services. While paramedics assessed her condition, she ultimately refused their offer to transport her to a hospital for treatment. Dahlgren noted that many homeless individuals, particularly those with mental health issues, often distrust and refuse help from emergency responders.
This event occurs amidst a worsening homelessness crisis in Portland's tri-county area, with a 61 percent increase in the homeless population since the previous year. Dahlgren, an advocate highlighting the city's issues, regularly encounters drug-related crises and has expressed concern over the prevalence of potent drug cocktails on the streets.
