Life sentence for Pontiac man's violent crimes

Timothy Legard, 52, has been sentenced to spend the rest of his natural life in prison without parole. This sentence comes after he was convicted for the fatal stabbing of his neighbor, William Allison, and the sexual assault of Allison's wife and minor daughter. The conviction stems from events that occurred on September 18, 2024. Legard pleaded no contest to charges including first-degree murder, kidnapping, and felonious assault.

Prosecutors stated that Legard encountered his neighbor, 41-year-old William Allison, outside Allison's home in Pontiac on the morning of the incident. Legard allegedly stabbed Allison before entering the residence and assaulting the wife and daughter. Police discovered Allison deceased at the scene, and Legard was apprehended nearby.
