Police officers have successfully completed a 200-mile charity bike ride, raising more than £15,000 for Care of Police Survivors (COPS). This organization supports the families of officers who have died in the line of duty.
The 22 riders from Northamptonshire Police participated in the UK Police Unity Tour. They began their journey in Kettering on August 7, 2026, and arrived at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire on August 9, 2026.
This year's tour was particularly poignant as it was the first since the death of Northamptonshire officer PC Faizaan Najeeb in 2025. He tragically passed away after being struck by a car while responding to a crash.
Northamptonshire Police has now raised over £50,000 since they began participating in the tour in 2022. The event unites hundreds of officers from across the UK, all riding to a common destination for a service of remembrance.
