- Victim captured video of suspect adding substance to drinks.
- Substance identified as toxic ingredient found in eye drops.

A 37-year-old Plover woman, Jessica A. Meis, has pleaded not guilty to three felony charges. The charges stem from allegations that she repeatedly put eye drops into a man's beverages, causing him to fall ill. Meis is charged with aggravated battery as a domestic abuse incident and two counts of placing foreign objects in edibles.
According to the criminal complaint, the man reported his suspicions on July 20, after experiencing symptoms like exhaustion and dizziness since May 2025. He installed a hidden camera in his kitchen, which recorded Meis adding a substance from an eye drop container into his water bottle on July 18 and into another bottle from the refrigerator on July 16.
The man had been hospitalized multiple times, seeing specialists across central Wisconsin. Medical information indicated incidents of low blood pressure coinciding with Meis's stays at his residence. The substance, Tetrahydrozoline, is known to be toxic and can lead to severe health complications including lethargy, hypotension, and coma.
During an interview, Meis initially claimed she was adding saline solution to help him with hydration. However, she eventually admitted to putting eye drops in his drinks, though she was uncertain of the exact number of times. She faces a maximum sentence of 13 years in prison if convicted. Meis remains in custody on a $100,000 cash bail, with her next court appearance set for December 7.
