SUV Used in Attempted Homicide After Altercation

Pittsburgh police are investigating an alleged attempted homicide in the Mt. Washington neighborhood. A woman, identified as Chanel Dyer, is accused of intentionally running over her ex-boyfriend, Arnold Hardrick, with his own SUV. The incident occurred early Sunday morning on Warrington Avenue following a physical altercation between the two.
Investigators state that surveillance footage shows Dyer accelerating the SUV, jumping the curb, and striking Hardrick on the sidewalk before dragging him into the street and fleeing the scene. Hardrick sustained multiple internal injuries and a severe head injury and remained in critical condition as of Monday evening.
Dyer admitted to driving the vehicle and stated that both she and Hardrick had been drinking prior to the incident. She claimed Hardrick assaulted her inside the SUV and again after they exited the vehicle. Dyer is currently charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
