Phone recovered in Kabir murder case

Nigohan police have reportedly recovered a mobile phone that was allegedly used in the abduction and murder of Kabir alias Shiv Prakash. This breakthrough occurred on January 6, following the 24-hour police custody remand of two primary accused, Sujit Kumar Srivastava and Dilip Kumar Rawat. The victim's half-burnt body was discovered in Unnao on November 16, prompting an FIR for murder, evidence destruction, and criminal conspiracy.

During their interrogation on January 6, Srivastava and Rawat reportedly led investigators to a location near a drain on the Rae Bareli Highway. Here, police found a blue keypad mobile phone and the back cover of another handset, believed to be crucial electronic evidence. The accused had previously misled investigators regarding the phones used during the crime.

The investigation began after Kabir was forcibly abducted from Lalpur village on November 15. His body was subsequently moved to Vighapur in Unnao and set on fire in an attempt to conceal the crime. While all six accused have been arrested, the recovery of these phones marks a critical step in piecing together the events.
