In north Phoenix, a 42-year-old man was discovered deceased after emergency services found his body temperature had reached an alarming 107 degrees Fahrenheit.
Authorities were alerted on July 28, around 4 p.m., to an apartment complex near Interstate 17 and Campbell Avenue following reports of the man breaking a window and speaking incoherently. Fire officials confirmed the man exhibited severe physical distress due to his extremely elevated body temperature.
He was transported to a hospital where he later died. The medical examiner's office will determine the official cause of death. Detectives from the Phoenix Police Department's Homicide Unit are leading the investigation into this incident.
