Phoenix Cold Case: Police Release Video in 2018 Shooting

Eight years after a deadly shooting in west Phoenix, police have released surveillance video in hopes of identifying a person of interest. The incident, which occurred on July 21, 2018, resulted in the death of 26-year-old Matthew Groves.
Groves was shot in the area of 51st Avenue and Indian School Road following a physical altercation with an unknown assailant. He later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
Although a suspect was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in January 2019, Maricopa County prosecutors subsequently dismissed the charges. Phoenix police recently shared the video on social media, showing a man exiting a building at night, and believe this individual may possess crucial information about the homicide.
