A fatal shooting occurred in North Philadelphia on Friday, June 6, around 12:30 a.m. A 28-year-old pizza delivery driver was delivering an order to a vacant apartment in the Raymond Rosen Homes when he was shot. Officers responding to gunshots found him on the ground, critically wounded.
He was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 1 a.m. Investigators discovered three pizza boxes and an untouched bag inside the vacant unit, suggesting the delivery was completed before the shooting. Three spent shell casings found near the victim indicated the shooter was extremely close.
Surveillance footage captured the driver walking with the pizza boxes, followed by two individuals in dark clothing. While the shooting itself wasn't recorded, this footage provides a significant lead. Police have obtained the phone number used for the delivery and are actively investigating, though no arrests have been made as of the report.
