On October 4, 2025, Shawn Prince, a 29-year-old Pennsylvania man, was arrested in Kentucky after allegedly kidnapping a woman and holding her captive for a night.
According to the authorities, the incident began on September 29, 2025, when Prince allegedly threatened to cut the throat of the victim's friend's child if she did not go with him. He then reportedly drove the woman to a wooded area, put a gun to her head, and forced her to stay there overnight.
The following morning, as they were driving out of the location, the victim recognized the area and managed to escape while Prince was "nodding off." She then drove herself to the police station, where she reported the incident.
Prince is said to have fled in the vehicle and threatened to burn down the victim's home. He was later arrested in Kentucky and is now awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania, where he faces charges of kidnapping, simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment.
