In Patna's Dhanarua police station area, a 21-year-old woman was discovered deceased under mysterious circumstances on Sunday. Her grieving family has come forward with allegations that her in-laws brutally beat her to death, driven by a dowry dispute. The incident prompted immediate police intervention.
Authorities arrived at the scene at 11 am, secured the body, and initiated a thorough investigation, calling in a forensic team. The deceased has been identified as Pooja Kumari, wife of Ravi Ranjan Kumar. The couple had been married for approximately two years and had no children. Police reported that the victim's husband and in-laws have fled their residence following the incident.
Preliminary examination of the body revealed significant injury marks, including strangulation on the neck and recent burns on her hand, along with facial injuries. While strangulation appears to be the prima facie cause of death, the official cause will be determined by the medical report. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Police are recording the statement of the deceased's mother to register a formal case and pursue further legal action.
