A 27-year-old man, identified as Golu Kumar alias Sonu, was found deceased on Thursday morning near a railway office within Patna's Digha police station limits. Sonu, a resident of Samastipur, had been staying at his in-laws' residence for approximately one and a half months. His elder brother, Sachin Kumar, reported that Sonu had contacted him around 12:30 AM, claiming his in-laws were assaulting him and that his mobile phone had been discarded into a well.
Sachin further stated that Sonu's father-in-law contacted him around 5 AM to report Sonu's death by hanging. Upon arriving in Patna, Sachin learned of the incident. Authorities, including the Digha police station SHO and a forensic team, examined the site and collected evidence. The body has been sent for postmortem, with the exact cause of death to be determined by medical and forensic reports. Police are investigating all aspects, including the family's allegations. The deceased worked as a furniture dealer, but his business faced difficulties, leading his father-in-law to suggest he drive an e-rickshaw.
