Patna Hostel Tragedy: Teen Dies by Suicide

A tragic incident unfolded in Patna where a 17-year-old girl was found dead in her private hostel room on Tuesday. The student, who hailed from Samastipur in Bihar, was discovered hanging, leading authorities to suspect suicide. Police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter, as no suicide note was recovered from the scene.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Abhinav Kumar reported that the police were alerted to the situation around 9 am. Upon arrival, the hostel premises were sealed, and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was called to examine the room. Evidence, including the girl's mobile phone, has been collected for analysis.

The deceased had been a resident of the Patna hostel since 2024 and was a Class 12 student. She had reportedly left Patna in December to focus on her board examinations and had returned to the hostel only eight days prior to the discovery of her body. The police await forensic and post-mortem reports for a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding her death.
