Pastor's AI songs played at murder trial

Pastor Caleb Flynn, a former American Idol contestant, is on trial for the murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn. During the proceedings on Thursday, September 24, audio files of AI-generated love songs Flynn created for his mistress, Alleigha Botner, were presented as evidence. These songs, found on Flynn's iPhone, were created using an app removed from his device days before the alleged murder.

The jury heard two songs, with lyrics expressing deep affection. Botner testified that the songs were intended to show Flynn's feelings for her and that specific lyrics referenced their clandestine meetings. She also read text messages exchanged with Flynn, which contained explicit desires to kill Ashley so they could be together.

Ashley Flynn was found dead on February 16 after her husband reported an intruder. Prosecutors allege Flynn staged the scene to cover up his crime. The couple had been married for 15 years and had two daughters, aged 10 and 12, who were home at the time of the incident. Flynn has pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated murder and tampering with evidence.
