In a disturbing turn of events, parents and their younger brother allegedly conspired to murder a 32-year-old man, Dushyant Kumar, due to his persistent drug addiction. The family reportedly hired a contract killer for a sum of Rs 5 lakh to carry out the deed. To arrange for the advance payment, the victim's mother sold her jewelry, obtaining Rs 55,000.
Dushyant Kumar was found deceased in a dry canal situated near a forested area. According to police, the victim, in an intoxicated state, frequently subjected his elderly parents to abuse and assault. Driven by this persistent mistreatment, his brother Sankit, along with his parents Peetam Singh and Maya Devi, planned and executed the murder with the help of a local criminal named Jogendra.
Jogendra, along with his accomplices and Sankit, is accused of strangling Dushyant on Friday night before dumping his body. Authorities have arrested Sankit and his father, Peetam Singh, on suspicion of their involvement. An FIR has been registered against the parents, Sankit, and Jogendra under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for murder. Maya Devi, Jogendra, and two other unidentified individuals remain at large.
