In Pierce County, Washington, Alyssa Jade Vanderbeck, 19, and Mark Anthony Labaco Clamor, 21, have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of their 7-week-old infant son. Clamor also faces a homicide by abuse charge. The infant died on March 9, five days after being admitted to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital with severe injuries including subdural hemorrhages and retinal hemorrhages, which a physician assessed as consistent with abusive head trauma.
Court documents revealed Clamor admitted to jerking the child roughly and that he and Vanderbeck waited approximately one hour after noticing the infant was in significant distress before calling 911. Vanderbeck filmed videos of her son in distress, sending them to her parents for help. Investigators also discovered a TikTok video filmed by Vanderbeck in the infant's hospital room, where she danced to upbeat music.
