The district police are operating on high alert, deploying dog squads, SWAT teams, and enhancing surveillance at critical points throughout the city. Deputy Commissioner of Police Srishti Gupta conducted a thorough inspection at the Parade Ground in Sector 5, the primary venue for the celebrations, stressing the importance of maintaining stringent security protocols.
Comprehensive security operations are underway, featuring continuous search initiatives by dog squads in high-traffic areas like bus stands, markets, and the railway station. Strict instructions have been issued to police officers to conduct combing operations within their jurisdictions. Security checks have also been amplified at hotels and inns, with diligent verification of guest records and identification. A total of 34 special checkpoints are active along district borders and internal routes, complementing the efforts of over 300 police personnel, four SWAT commando teams, and extensive patrol vehicles ensuring swift response capabilities.
