She testified that the abuse made her feel "dirty" and like "faulty goods," significantly impacting her life's trajectory. Kristiansen's defense that they were "just being nice" was rejected by the jury.
During sentencing, the judge emphasized the "very important and far-reaching" effects of the abuse on the victim. Kristiansen, who denied the charges, will also be placed on the sex offender register for the remainder of his life.
