Ashley Paul Griffith, already serving a life sentence in Queensland for child sexual offenses, has been hit with 202 new charges in New South Wales. These allegations, described as deeply disturbing by police, include the alleged rape of children aged less than 10, some as young as one.
The fresh charges span from 2014 to 2017 and involve 23 alleged victims between the ages of one and five. The offenses are said to have occurred while Griffith was employed at a childcare centre in Sydney's inner west.
NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Brett Greentree highlighted the extensive investigation and national collaboration involved. He emphasized the commitment to protecting vulnerable children and bringing offenders to justice. Griffith was charged while at Silverwater Correctional Complex in Sydney, following his extradition from Queensland earlier this week.
