30 Jun
Summary
- Tenant allegedly trashed property one day after eviction notice was posted.
- Landlord estimates $100,000 in damages to the Orlando property.
- Police are investigating potential criminal mischief at the scene.

An Orlando landlord is pursuing a criminal investigation after a tenant allegedly trashed a commercial property just one day after receiving an eviction notice. The incident occurred at a location in a strip plaza off Universal Boulevard and International Drive.
Orlando police confirmed an investigation into possible criminal mischief is underway. The tenant, however, denies wrongdoing, claiming he invested thousands into the space and only took what was his. He believes he caused no damage and that the holes in the ceiling were from removing light fixtures he installed.
The property owner, Dr. Usha Jain, shared videos of the space before it was rented in April 2025, showing it was fully equipped. After missed payments, she initiated eviction proceedings. The tenant vacated last week, allegedly taking kitchen equipment and leaving the premises damaged. Jain anticipates a substantial repair bill, estimated at $100,000, to make the space rentable again.
