Cross supplied a deadly chemical, purchased for £100, to four individuals he connected with on an anonymous suicide forum in August and September 2024. Authorities worked to close down UK access to the forum Cross utilized to target vulnerable people. The prosecution highlighted that Cross researched suicide methods for personal use, referring to the forum as his 'bible'.
Cross was arrested in January 2025, with the substance found at his residence. Analysis of his devices confirmed his links to the forum, social media, and financial transactions. One identified victim, Shubreet Singh, 29, from Leeds, had a foil bag with Cross's return address at her home. The substance has been linked to over 133 deaths in the UK.
