A dance instructor in Ohio, Olivia Clendenin, has been sentenced to 16 to 20 years in prison for a shooting that transpired on January 1, 2025. The incident unfolded at a Clearcreek Township party.
Clendenin, 29, allegedly opened fire after her husband and boyfriend simultaneously learned of their relationships with her earlier that evening. Prosecutors stated she fired eight shots from a handgun, striking Daniel Johnson, a 29-year-old party guest, in the abdomen.
Johnson, who was not involved with Clendenin, spoke at her sentencing, detailing the ongoing chronic pain he suffers. He emphasized that his life changed unexpectedly due to the shooting. Clendenin expressed regret to Johnson and spoke of her care for her family and friends.
Despite Clendenin's statements, a relative of the victim stated she has shown no remorse for shooting Johnson instead of her intended target. Clendenin's attorney announced plans to appeal the sentence.
