Skeletal remains found in Garfield Heights, Ohio, 35 years ago are now the subject of an active homicide investigation. The victim, a Black male estimated to be between 18 and 21 years old, was discovered by children on September 11, 1991. Initially, the cause of death was listed as "violence of undetermined origin."
However, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has reclassified the case as a homicide as of April 30, 2026. This decision comes after renewed investigation revealed a ligature around the victim's neck, suggesting foul play. The victim was identified by his clothing: a red shirt, Levi jeans, tan undershorts, white socks, and Nike tennis shoes.
Intriguingly, a note was discovered inside one of the victim's shoes. It bears the message, "We can't wait to see you! Love Cynthia and Boo Boo." Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could help identify the victim or lead to a suspect in this cold case.
