Summary
- Accused officer stated he wasn't avoiding police during a call.
- Bodies of victims found in surfboard bags at a rural property.
- Accused cleaned blood from a van before turning himself in.
A Sydney court heard that Beau Lamarre-Condon, an officer accused of murdering his ex-partner Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, told police he was not trying to evade them. This statement was made during a three-minute phone call on February 22, 2026, four days after the alleged murders, before Lamarre-Condon turned himself in.
Lamarre-Condon, 31, has pleaded not guilty to the murders that occurred on February 19, 2026. He led investigators to a rural property where the bodies of Baird and Davies, both in their 20s, were found concealed in surfboard bags. Earlier, Lamarre-Condon had contacted a friend, expressing he had "done something bad" and had "just gotten rid of all social media."
Evidence presented also indicated that Lamarre-Condon scrubbed blood from the back of a white van outside the friend's home. He informed his friend that he had put his phone on aeroplane mode to avoid police contact. The Crown alleges a premeditated killing motivated by jealousy, while Lamarre-Condon claims self-defense.
