- Officer faces death by careless driving charges; case to go to crown court.

PC Philip Duthie, 41, appeared in court charged with causing death by careless driving. The prosecution stated that on April 16, 2021, Duthie was traveling at 60mph on the incorrect side of Aylesbury's A41 Bicester Road, a 40mph zone, when he collided with Kimberley Cameron, 27.
Cameron, who was jogging, tragically died as a result of the incident. Duthie's view was reportedly obstructed by a van at the moment of impact. The officer, from Leighton Buzzard, has elected to have his case heard at a crown court, with his next appearance scheduled for May 26 at the Old Bailey.
An inquest jury previously concluded that Cameron's death was due to a road-traffic collision. Following new evidence emerging at the inquest, the Independent Office for Police Conduct conducted a reinvestigation. Cameron's parents remembered her as an "amazing young woman" who lived life to the fullest.
