- Police suspect occultist Kamruddin in at least eight murders.

An occultist, Kamruddin, has been arrested by New Delhi police in connection with the poisoning and murder of three individuals whose bodies were discovered in an abandoned car on February 8. Investigators now suspect Kamruddin may be involved in a total of at least eight murders. His alleged modus operandi involved elaborate ritualistic deception, promising clients immense wealth through 'djinn' rituals.
As part of these rituals, Kamruddin reportedly requested photographs of young women and girls, often providing specific instructions on their appearance. Multiple such images were found on a victim's phone, suggesting they were circulated among his associates. Police are actively tracing the supply chain for the lethal combination of aluminum phosphide and sleeping pills he allegedly administered to his victims.
Kamruddin employed various deceptive tricks to convince clients of his supernatural abilities, including a 'money trick' and fraudulent medical 'cures.' He also took precautions to avoid detection, such as instructing clients to switch phones to flight mode and avoiding CCTV-monitored areas. Evidence, including a 'djinn kalma' note, was found on one victim. He is also linked to past murder cases in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
