Responding to the girl's cries for help around 2 p.m. local time, the officers quickly assessed the situation and jumped into the river to pull her to safety.
Bodycam footage released by the NYPD captures the dramatic rescue, showing one officer removing his jacket and leaping into the frigid water to reach the distressed teen, who was about 20 feet from shore. Another officer carefully made his way along a narrow, concrete ledge to assist in the rescue, as the team worked together to lift the girl from the water.
