A former intensive care unit nurse from Hart County has received a substantial prison sentence for his crimes against a minor. Reed Cohen Skelton, 26, of Bowersville, pleaded guilty to charges including trafficking of persons for sexual servitude and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Skelton initiated contact with the 16-year-old victim through social media platforms like Snapchat. Over several months, he exchanged sexually explicit content with her before arranging to meet her in November 2024. He then transported her to a hotel in Fulton County, where he sexually assaulted her and paid her $500.
On February 12, 2026, Skelton was sentenced to 25 years. The sentence includes 10 years to be served in prison, followed by the remaining time on strict probation. He is also mandated to register as a sex offender as part of the court's judgment.
