A shocking assault occurred at Newton Community Hospital in Merseyside when a nurse, Megan Lynch, was attacked with a crowbar. The 28-year-old district nurse was reportedly struck from behind while standing at a vending machine, sustaining significant head injuries.
Six individuals, including Ms. Lynch, were injured in the incident. The alleged perpetrator, a 20-year-old Afghan man residing locally, is suspected of initiating the violence after being denied an appointment at the hospital. He was arrested at the scene and subsequently detained under the Mental Health Act.
