Nurse Struck Off for Falsifying Records for Weight-Loss Drugs
23 Oct
Summary
- Nurse Sarah Didymus faked patient records for 16 months.
- She obtained weight-loss drugs at NHS subsidized prices.
- Her calculated actions involved five patients and were deemed dishonest.

Sarah Jayne Didymus, formerly an advanced nurse practitioner at Port View Surgery in Saltash, Cornwall, has been removed from the nursing register for falsifying patient records to acquire weight-loss drugs. Over a period of 16 months, Didymus systematically abused her prescribing authority. She obtained medications such as Ozempic and Trulicity at NHS subsidized prices by creating fraudulent prescriptions. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) panel characterized her conduct as 'devious, sustained, calculated and planned,' involving five patients.
Didymus's scheme involved prescribing drugs to patients without clinical justification, printing the prescriptions, and then cancelling them on the patients' electronic records with fabricated reasons like 'error' or 'wrong PT.' This method was repeated to conceal her actions, which were discovered when a pharmacy queried a large Ozempic prescription. The NMC panel highlighted that her behavior was a deliberate course of conduct, not an isolated error. This serious dishonesty, they concluded, undermined public confidence in the nursing profession, necessitating her removal from practice.
