Nurse's 'Brain Fog' After McDonald's Linked to Officer Deaths
6 May
Summary
- A nurse is accused of killing three officers after a 12-hour shift.
- She allegedly experienced 'brain fog' after eating McDonald's.
- Toxicology reports confirmed no alcohol or drugs in her system.

In November 2024, three Florida officers were fatally struck by a nurse en route home from a 12-hour shift. Corporal Luis Paez Jr., Deputy Ignacio "Dan" Diaz, and Deputy Ralph "Butch" Waller died when their motorcycles were hit while parked on State Road 80.
The nurse, Corrinne Blue, was charged with three counts of vehicular homicide in April 2026. A warrant affidavit suggests Blue may have experienced cognitive impairment, or 'brain fog,' after consuming fast food from McDonald's shortly before the collision.
Data indicates Blue had been awake for 18 hours preceding the crash. A human factors expert opined that the meal could have induced postprandial fatigue. Toxicology reports confirmed no alcohol or drugs were present in Blue's system.
