Adedapo Adegbola has pleaded guilty to the murder of 23-year-old Stephanie Irons. Her body was found by emergency services on October 21, at an address in Westdale Lane West, Mapperley, Nottinghamshire. Adegbola, aged 40, made a brief appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday where he admitted the single charge of murder.
During the court appearance, victim impact statements were confirmed to be in preparation, with members of Ms. Irons' family present. The judge has set February 5 as the sentencing date for Adegbola, stating that he faces a mandatory life sentence. The family of Stephanie Irons, also known as Steph, released a tribute describing her as a "bright young star" whose future was taken, and a "beautiful, loving and caring daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend."
