- Residents on high alert after 15-minute chase through housing complex
- Police arrest fugitive, two accomplices; one still at large

In a dramatic incident on October 16th, a Rajasthan gangster wanted for murder broke into a Kolkata housing complex and led police on a tense chase before being apprehended. The fugitive, identified as Dharmendra Gujjar, is sought in the killing of a Rajasthan businessman earlier this month.
Around 8:20 pm on the 16th, Gujjar scaled the perimeter wall of the Purbachal Cluster IV in Salt Lake and entered a resident's ground-floor flat, claiming to be a police officer. When the resident's husband asked him to leave, Gujjar fled upstairs, broke through a door, and tried to hide on a fourth-floor parapet.
After a 15-minute pursuit, police finally caught Gujjar as he attempted to enter the adjacent IPS housing compound. Two of his accomplices were arrested earlier, while one remains at large.
In the aftermath, residents of the Purbachal Cluster IV spent the following day on high alert, with ground-floor balconies bolted and additional security guards deployed. Local authorities are also considering raising the height of the perimeter wall and improving lighting to enhance security.
