Police discovered deeply disturbing material on devices seized from the Bright Horizons nursery on Finchley Road, West Hampstead, including video evidence of the abuse. Some of this evidence was filmed on nursery iPads. The nursery branch has since ceased operations. Chan, who had been advance vetted, worked with children aged two to four, holding roles such as art specialist and room leader.
Victims' families, present in court, released a statement expressing shock and distress, questioning how Chan was employed and how the abuse persisted. They feel Bright Horizons failed in its safeguarding duties and are seeking accountability. A spokesperson for Bright Horizons stated they are appalled by the crimes and committed to supporting the affected children and families.
