Erhart was found at the scene covered in blood and holding a kitchen knife to her throat, according to an arrest affidavit. She was taken into custody after dropping the knife. Tragically, a 3-year-old and a 5-month-old were pronounced dead at local hospitals. Their 1-year-old sibling survived after undergoing surgery.
Before the alleged fatal attacks, Erhart reportedly threatened the children's father with a gun, telling him to "Say goodbye to your kids." The father was reportedly able to disarm her after a struggle. He and the children's grandmother were also allegedly menaced with a knife. A GoFundMe has been established to support the father with funeral and medical costs.
