5 Feb
Summary
- Gang used hi-tech equipment to steal over 200 cars in a decade.
- Stolen vehicles were sold in Rajasthan, Haryana, and other states.
- Leader Sameer faced 14 criminal cases before arrest.

An organized inter-state gang, accused of stealing more than 200 vehicles over the past decade, was busted by Noida police. The gang utilized advanced technology, including GPS jammers, to facilitate their operations, which began around 2013. Six members, identified as residents of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, were arrested on Wednesday.
Led by Sameer, who faces numerous criminal charges, the gang's modus operandi involved meticulous reconnaissance and the sale of stolen cars to buyers in states like Rajasthan and Haryana. Vehicles that could not be sold were dismantled, with parts distributed across Delhi's auto parts markets.
The group's extensive network and decade-long criminal activities made them a persistent challenge for police across multiple jurisdictions, including Ghaziabad and Amroha. The arrested individuals, with education ranging from Class 5 to Class 9, were reportedly motivated by the prospect of quick financial gains.
