Recordings of anonymous calls to police about an attempt to sell Noah Donohoe's laptop during his disappearance have been played at his inquest. The inquest, currently in its tenth week, heard from a witness who denied making these calls, accusing others of deception.
Noah, a 14-year-old pupil, vanished in June 2020 and was found dead six days later in a storm drain. The court heard how Daryl Paul, who has pleaded guilty to stealing Noah's rucksack containing the laptop, allegedly attempted to sell the device.
A witness, identified as AC2, stated that Paul tried to sell him a laptop, which raised alarms due to its condition. AC2 claimed his acquaintance, AC3, later made an anonymous call to the police after hearing about Noah's missing laptop.
However, AC3, who also gave evidence, denied making the calls played in court. She stated the voice did not sound like hers and suggested AC2 and Paul were fabricating their accounts. The calls, made on June 24 and 25, reported Paul's attempt to sell the laptop and expressed concern about his potential knowledge of Noah's whereabouts.
