Dashcam Captures Alleged E-bike Murder Turnaround
18 Oct
Summary
- Dashcam may prove intent in deaths of two teen girls.
- Driver allegedly traveled 70 mph in a 25 mph zone.
- Driver accused of stalking one victim prior to crash.

Vincent Battiloro, 18, faces two counts of first-degree murder following his indictment by a Union County grand jury. The charges stem from the alleged deliberate killing of two 17-year-old girls, Maria Niotis and Isabella Salas, on September 29, 2025. Investigators believe dashcam footage from Battiloro's vehicle may be crucial in proving his intent.
The footage reportedly shows Battiloro turning his vehicle around to follow the girls as they rode an electric bicycle on Burnside Avenue in Cranford. At the time of the collision, Battiloro was allegedly traveling at speeds up to 70 mph in a 25 mph residential zone.
Prosecutors must prove Battiloro purposely caused the deaths, a task that may be aided by the dashcam recording. The girls' families are seeking justice, with one victim's mother alleging Battiloro had stalked her daughter for months prior to the incident, a concern she had previously reported to the police.
Authorities also noted Battiloro fled the scene on foot after striking the girls. He faces additional charges for leaving the scene, failing to report an accident, and various vehicle equipment violations. Battiloro was arrested in June of this year after the dashcam footage was reviewed, and he is currently in custody.
