News Crew Attacked Near Planetarium

A CBS News crew preparing for a live report was assaulted near Chicago's Adler Planetarium on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred around 4:25 p.m. when several individuals arrived in a white truck.

According to police, the suspects exited their vehicle, yelled racial slurs at one of the journalists, and commanded a dog to attack the pair. When the animal did not respond, the attackers proceeded to damage the news team's equipment, including smashing a camera and the news truck itself.

The two journalists were unharmed during the assault. Police reported that arrests were made later in Brighton Park in connection with the incident, which also involved a gun being pointed at another person. The investigation into the attack is ongoing.
