Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead following a suspected assault. The incident occurred in an alleyway between Dale Street and Arthur Terrace in New Marske, North Yorkshire, on Friday night. Emergency services were called shortly after 8pm. The man was pronounced dead at the scene approximately an hour later.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody for questioning. Cleveland Police stated that the victim's next of kin have been informed and that enquiries are ongoing. Authorities believe the event to be isolated and targeted.
