On October 25th, 2025, a 24-year-old woman in Goregaon West, Mumbai, was the victim of a disturbing sexual harassment incident involving her 32-year-old neighbor, Yasin Shaikh.
The woman was on her way to a public lavatory around 11:30 PM when someone threw a stone at her. She ignored it and continued on. However, when she was returning home from the lavatory, the same thing happened again. This time, she looked up and spotted Shaikh, her neighbor, seated in the balcony of his house.
Shaikh was not only staring at the woman, but he was also watching a pornographic video. He then forced the victim to watch the same video, leading her to suspect that he had been throwing stones at her intentionally. Shaken by the incident, the woman later reported it to her family, who then filed a police complaint at the Bangur Nagar Police station.
An FIR has now been registered against Shaikh, a welder by profession, for sexually harassing the young woman. The authorities are investigating the case further.
