NC Teen Found Safe After Month-Long Disappearance

A 16-year-old girl from North Carolina, who had been missing for almost a month, was found safe in Florida on Sunday, March 8. A Putnam County Sheriff's Office deputy discovered her in the car of Joshua Magraff, 37, after pulling him over for speeding.
Magraff, from Charlotte, North Carolina, initially claimed the girl was his 12-year-old cousin, later changing his story to say she was 19. The teen confirmed her identity and that she was reported missing on February 16.
Deputies found synthetic and real marijuana, counterfeit currency, and drug paraphernalia in Magraff's vehicle. He was arrested on charges including interference in child custody and possession of controlled substances.
The Department of Children and Families took custody of the teen. Magraff is being held on a $9,000 bond in Putnam County Jail.
