In Turbhe MIDC, a 45-year-old tempo driver named Akash Pisal was apprehended by Turbhe police on Sunday afternoon. He is accused of molesting the 10-year-old daughter of a Mumbai police constable. The incident reportedly happened when Pisal called the child into his chawl room.
The victim's mother became aware of the situation when another child informed her that the "driver uncle" had summoned the girl inside. Upon checking, the mother found her daughter visibly scared inside Pisal's room. The girl informed her mother that the accused had attempted to remove her clothing.
Following the complaint and a medical examination that indicated no sexual penetration, Pisal was arrested. Charges have been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act. A Belapur court remanded the accused to judicial custody on Monday.
