In a brazen daylight heist yesterday morning, three individuals disguised in burqas targeted the Sangam Gold Jewelry Store in the Seawoods, Nerul area of Navi Mumbai. The incident, captured on CCTV, occurred around 10:45 am, causing significant alarm in the locality. The owner reported that the assailants entered the shop, posing as customers, before brandishing what appeared to be a pistol.
The suspects made off with a substantial amount of valuables, including gold ornaments weighing approximately 250 grams, estimated to be worth Rs 25 lakh. Additionally, Rs 35,000 in cash was taken. The robbery took place within the Neelkanth Pride society, raising concerns due to its proximity to a police chowki.
Authorities have responded swiftly, forming four specialized teams to apprehend the perpetrators. Initial investigations suggest that the weapon used might have been a fake pistol, as no shots were fired. The police are actively pursuing leads to uncover the identities of the robbers and recover the stolen items.
