The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, has been charged with murder, assault with intent to kill, and firearm possession. He appeared in court from a hospital bed following the incident, during which witnesses reported hearing him shout "Allahu Akbar."
U.S. Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, of Summersville, West Virginia, was pronounced dead on November 27 after an autopsy confirmed a single gunshot wound to the back of her head. U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, remained in critical condition.
