On Wednesday, Nagpur police officers displayed remarkable dedication by creating an emergency corridor to transport a pregnant woman in labor to AIIMS. Her journey was obstructed by the security cordon established for President Droupadi Murmu's convoy on the Nagpur-Wardha road. The situation escalated when the woman's cab became stuck near Chinchbhuvan Square.
Facing immense pressure, police personnel from Beltarodi police station, including Assistant Police Inspector Pankaj Kakde, Head Constable Prashant Thaokar, and Constable Ajay Neware, took swift action. They coordinated with the control room and Senior Inspector Mukund Kawade. With the assistance of bystanders, they managed to clear a passage by relocating approximately 80-100 vehicles, enabling the woman's cab to proceed.
Senior Inspector Kawade acknowledged that the decision to relax strict zero-tolerance guidelines for VVIP movement was a bold one, taken without formal permissions due to the urgency. He also arranged for a police escort to ensure the woman's safe arrival at the hospital, prioritizing her immediate medical needs over protocol adherence.
